Why I love to fish:
“Because of the many fishing stories my grandma told me about my grandfather Willem Renting I came in contact with sport fishing at an early age. I was about 6 years old when I caught my first fish in one of the canals in Amsterdam. With my bamboo fishing rod, I went looking for little fishes. In that same canal, the Hoornsloot, I caught my first eels and perch with nightcrawlers I collected myself. Not much later I landed my first pike. The love for fishing for predators was born”.
